Founded by Frank Callahan in 1959 as a manufacturer rep
business. We cover the six New England states, and the capitol area of New
York, calling on full line paper distributors, wholesales and institutional
Foodservice distributors, Jan-San and restaurant dealers.
Our sales force is comprised of 8 outside sales people, all
with more years experience than we wish, myself with 30 years and 3 others with
more than 20 years. All but one has an excess of 15 years.
Our concentration has historically been in food service,
however since the late 1980’s we have become a strong supplier to the Jan-San
industry, which has now moved into all the sectors we supply.
We have a staff of six inside sales service personnel who
support our outside sales force. Our sales associates are dedicated to each
sales person and their customers, giving the customer a knowledgeable and
consistent team of support. We also have additional support in a General
Manager, complete clerical staff, and a person dedicated to the marketing of our
lines.
Being a successful manufacturer representative is only a
part of the Callahan family commitment.
We also have a wholesale business as well. The business runs
side by side with the rep business and for many appears to be the same. We use
the same inside support team and sales staff for both companies.
Callico is the name of the redistribution
company, and sells only to the distribution community, no end user sales. This
has proven to be a valuable tool for the manufacturer as well as the
distributors of all sizes. It allows us to reach the full spectrum of
distribution and helps us develop our customer’s business through easy access
to the product. Very often we build these customers into direct buying
customers when it meets their needs.
